I received the picture below through a tweet from my fiend Esali.

Now, this picture is a little older, (circa 2011) but the message will never go out of date. Here we see renowned animator and director Hayao Miyazaki, creator of beloved films such as My Neighbor Totoro, Princess Mononoke, Nausica and the Valley of the Wind, and Spirited Away marching down the street with two more marchers and one dog. I have not been able to really find any more information involving this other than what is actually written on his sign, which reads “No! Nuclear Plants”. It looks like he needs more supporters…

After the events of last years disaster in Japan involving the plants, I can say for sure, there needs to be more awareness on this subject. It makes me smile knowing that someone as famous as Miyazaki is willing to step out and take action. Celebrities over here in America could learn a thing or two from him.

If I saw him on the street I would say “Hayao’re you doing today?”

Then he’d wonder what you were saying because he’s Japanese.
